P：(回身，欲離去)

F：I wish you could stay with me a moment.

P: What for? You keep reminding us of what we regret most.

F: I don’t regret.I’ve never regretted anything.

P:But I do.I’ve made such a mess of my life. I’m a disgrace to myself,to my father.

F:There’s one you disgraced most of all.Your stepmother,the woman you seduced!

P:You must be mad!

F:You’re responsible for my misery.You can’t just run off your own!

P:It’s an outrageous thing to say.In a respectable family like father’s!

F:Respectable?(冷笑) The sins of the Zhous, I’ve heard about them,seen them,even committed them myself.What I’ve done, I am responsible for.

P:繁漪……

F:unlike your father,or grandfather,doing the most atrocious in private,Yet put the blame on others,and wore a mask of morality, philanthropist,Respectable figures!

P:You’ve gone mad!

F:Your father is the hypocrite of all.You are the illegitimate! the poor girl gave birth to you.Because your father deserted her,she drowned herself.

P:You’re making it all up!

F:He himself told me 15 years ago when he was druck once.

P:Alright,alright.I l take your words. So what,what are you driving at?

F:Your father left her for a rich girl,who died later,then he tricked me into coming here and turned me to a stone,dead and liveless.Suddenly you came along.and made me what I am. Half stepmother,half mistress.It’s you who seduced me!

P:seduced? Do you recall what happened?

P:Whatever you want..

F:萍.I want you to stay.

P:Do you mean to stay with you in this house and get suffocated?

F:As you know how dreadful this house is,How can you have the heart to go and leave me behind?

P:You have no right to say that.You’ve still chong’s mother.

F:No,I’m not.I’ve given you my life and honour.I couldn’t care anything else.I’m no longer his mother,no longer 周樸園’s wife.

P:Even if you don’t regard yourself as my father’s wife,I still recognise myself as his son.

F:Your father’s son! (笑)Your father’s son!(大笑)

You are a bunch of chicken,not worth anybody’s sacrifice.I should have known……

P:Now you know,don’t you? I told you many times before.I loathe my relationship with you.I admit I did something wrong.Yet I hold you responsible.I thought you would be intelligent and understanding enough to forgive me.

Call me a philanderer,or whatever. But let me told you,this meeting is going to be our last.

繁 回來(lái)，(萍停步)我請(qǐng)你略微坐一坐。

萍 什么事?你讓我想起我們最后悔的事情。

繁 我不后悔，我向來(lái)做事沒(méi)有后悔過(guò)。

萍 但我后悔，我認(rèn)為我生平做錯(cuò)一件大事。我對(duì)不起自己，對(duì)不起弟弟，更對(duì)不起父親。

繁 (低沉地)但是最對(duì)不起的人有一個(gè)，你最對(duì)不起的是我，是你曾經(jīng)引誘的后母!

萍 (有些怕她)你瘋了。

繁 你欠了我一筆債，你對(duì)我負(fù)著責(zé)任;你不能看見了新的世界，就一個(gè)人跑。

萍 我認(rèn)為你用的這些字眼，簡(jiǎn)直可怕。這種字句不是在父親這樣--這樣體面的家庭里說(shuō)的。

繁 (氣極)父親，父親，你撇開你的父親吧!體面?你也說(shuō)體面?我聽過(guò)，我見過(guò)，我做過(guò)。我做的事，我自己負(fù)責(zé)任。不像你們的祖父，叔祖，同你們的好父親，偷偷做出許多可怕的事情，禍移在別人身上，外面還是一副道德面孔，慈善家，社會(huì)上的好人物。

萍 你不要亂說(shuō)話。

繁 萍，你再聽清楚點(diǎn)，你就是你父親的私生子!

萍 (驚異而無(wú)主地)你瞎說(shuō)，你有什么證據(jù)?

繁 請(qǐng)你問(wèn)你的體面父親，這是他十五年前喝醉了的時(shí)候告訴我的。(指桌上相片)你就是這年青的姑娘生的小孩。她因?yàn)槟愀赣H又不要她，就自己投河死了。

萍 你，你，你簡(jiǎn)直……--好，好，(強(qiáng)笑)我都承認(rèn)。你預(yù)備怎么樣?你要跟我說(shuō)什么?

繁 你父親對(duì)不起我，他用同樣手段把我騙到你們家來(lái)，我逃不開，生了沖兒。十幾年來(lái)像剛才一樣的兇橫，把我漸漸地磨成了石頭樣的死人。你突然從家鄉(xiāng)出來(lái)，是你，是你把我引到一條母親不像母親，情婦不像情婦的路上去。是你引誘我的!

萍 引誘!我請(qǐng)你不要用這兩個(gè)字好不好?你知道當(dāng)時(shí)的情形怎么樣?

繁 你忘記了在這屋子里，半夜，我哭的時(shí)候，你嘆息著說(shuō)的話么?你說(shuō)你恨你的父親，你說(shuō)過(guò)，你愿他死，就是犯了滅倫的罪也干。

萍 年青人一時(shí)糊涂，做錯(cuò)了的事，你就不肯原諒么?(苦惱地皺著眉)

繁 這不是原諒不原諒的問(wèn)題，我已預(yù)備好棺材，安安靜靜地等死，一個(gè)人偏把我救活了又不理我，撇得我枯死，慢慢地渴死。讓你說(shuō)，我該怎么辦?

萍 那，那我也不知道，你來(lái)說(shuō)吧!

繁 (一字一字地)我希望你不要走。

萍 怎么，你要我陪著你，在這樣的家庭，每天想著過(guò)去的罪惡，這樣活活地悶死么?

繁 你既知道這家庭可以悶死人，你怎么肯一個(gè)人走，把我放在家里?

萍 你沒(méi)有權(quán)利說(shuō)這種話，你是沖弟弟的母親。

繁 我不是!我不是!自從我把我的性命，名譽(yù)，交給你，我什么都不顧了。我不是他的母親。不是，不是，我也不是周樸園的妻子。

萍 (冷冷地)如果你以為你不是父親的妻子，我自己還承認(rèn)我是我父親的兒子。

繁 (冷冷地)怎么說(shuō)，你到底是你父親的兒子。(笑)父親的兒子?(狂笑)父親的兒子?(狂笑，忽然冷靜嚴(yán)厲地)哼，都是沒(méi)有用，膽小怕事，不值得人為他犧牲的東西!我恨著我早沒(méi)有知道你!

萍 那么你現(xiàn)在知道了!我對(duì)不起你，我已經(jīng)同你詳細(xì)解釋過(guò)，我厭惡這種不自然的關(guān)系。我告訴你，我厭惡。我負(fù)起我的責(zé)任，我承認(rèn)我那時(shí)的錯(cuò)，然而叫我犯了那樣的錯(cuò)，你也不能完全沒(méi)有責(zé)任。你是我認(rèn)為最聰明，最能了解的女子，所以我想，你最後會(huì)原諒我。我的態(tài)度，你現(xiàn)在罵我玩世不恭也好，不負(fù)責(zé)任也好，我告訴你，我盼望這一次的談話是我們最末一次談話了。(走向飯廳門)
