The Liberal Arts Program at UM-SJTU JI (Shanghai, PR China) invites applications for full-time lecturer positions in Academic Writing and Liberal Arts. 中國上海交大密西根學(xué)院人文社科項目現(xiàn)開放對于學(xué)術(shù)寫作和人文教育領(lǐng)域全職講師職位的申請。 The UM-SJTU JI is an English-based higher education institute founded in 2006, in a collaboration between the University of Michigan and Shanghai Jiaotong University. It currently offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in mechanical engineering and in electrical and computer engineering based on University of Michigan's curricula. The students, both Chinese and international, begin in Shanghai and can then go on to study at Michigan. 交大密西根學(xué)院（UM-SJTU JI）于2006年成立，是由美國密歇根安娜堡大學(xué)和上海交通大學(xué)合作成立的一個全英語教學(xué)的高等教育學(xué)院。目前學(xué)院基于密歇根大學(xué)的課程，提供機械工程和電氣和計算機工程專業(yè)的本科和研究生學(xué)位。中國學(xué)生及國際學(xué)生可以先在上海學(xué)習(xí)，之后在密歇根州繼續(xù)深造。 The Liberal Arts Program is responsible for offering courses aimed at enhancing students’ academic writing and critical thinking skills in an English-language environment as well as providing broader education in humanities and social sciences. 人文社科項目旨在開設(shè)能使學(xué)生們在全英語環(huán)境提高學(xué)術(shù)寫作和批判性思維能力，并在人文和社會科學(xué)領(lǐng)域接受更廣泛教育的課程。 With the fast expansion of the school in recent years, we are currently looking for full-time lecturers to teach courses in academic writing as well as in humanities and social sciences to strengthen existing programs and to expand the breadth of liberal arts education. 隨著學(xué)院近年來的快速發(fā)展，我們正在尋找在學(xué)術(shù)寫作以及人文和社會科學(xué)領(lǐng)域的全職教師，來支持學(xué)院現(xiàn)有的項目，并進(jìn)一步擴大人文教育的廣度。

崗位職責(zé)

Responsibilities ?Deliver up to six classes per academic year, each class typically requires 3 to 4 lecture-hours and 2 office hours per week for a 15-week semester ?Prepare and conduct classes, design homework and supervise examinations ?Guide TAs for recitation classes and grading ?Maintain a course website containing teaching materials and information 職責(zé) 1.每學(xué)年規(guī)定的授課量為6門課程，15周的學(xué)期中，每門課程基本需要每周3到4小時的授課時間及2小時的辦公室答疑時間。 2.根據(jù)指定教學(xué)大綱備課、授課，布置作業(yè)并監(jiān)考。 3.指導(dǎo)助教開設(shè)助教課，以及作業(yè)的批改。 4.維護(hù)課程網(wǎng)頁，該網(wǎng)頁中應(yīng)包括所有教學(xué)資料及相關(guān)信息。

Successful candidates are expected to teach both writing courses and humanities or social science courses but actual ratio between these two courses is negotiable in consideration of the candidate's background and interest. While the area of specialization is open, expertise in technical communication and in specific disciplines not currently represented - such as economics, history, sociology, anthropology, and psychology - is particularly desirable. Research focus in China, in areas such as education, migration, urbanization, industrialization, and the contexts of technological innovation will be a plus. 入選的候選人將教授寫作課程和人文科學(xué)或社會科學(xué)課程。入職后，這兩種課程負(fù)責(zé)數(shù)量的實際比例可以根據(jù)候選人的背景和興趣進(jìn)一步協(xié)商。在此我們提供了所需人才專業(yè)化領(lǐng)域的大范圍，技術(shù)交流方面或其他未列出的特定學(xué)科，如經(jīng)濟學(xué)、歷史、社會學(xué)、人類學(xué)、心理學(xué)方面的人才是我們尤其需要的。此外，研究集中在中國，方向包含教育、移民、城市化、工業(yè)化和技術(shù)創(chuàng)新的應(yīng)聘者有額外優(yōu)勢。Candidates with experience in academic administration at university level will be considered for an administrative position with reduced teaching duties.擁有在大學(xué)等級機構(gòu)管理經(jīng)驗的候選人，將被考慮安排行政職位并減少教學(xué)職責(zé)。
