Ask & Learn聞問(wèn)切英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ):On/ In a Tree
讀者 Kevin 問(wèn):on a tree 和 in a tree 有什么分別?
兩者其實(shí)沒(méi)有顯著的分別。有一個(gè)說(shuō)法認(rèn)為 on a tree 是指一些樹(shù)木自然生長(zhǎng)出來(lái)的東西,例如 leaves、flowers、fruits on a tree。有一首有名的民歌,開(kāi)頭的兩句是 "I wish I was an apple growing on a tree/ And every time my girl walks by, she takes a bite of me"。
至于 in a tree 是指一些不屬于樹(shù)的東西卻在樹(shù)上找到。例如:貓看到樹(shù)上的鳥(niǎo)兒,也要爬到樹(shù)上。The cat saw the bird in the tree, and wanted to climb up, too.
以上只是其中一說(shuō),因?yàn)?on a tree 和 in a tree 的分別,絕對(duì)不是硬性規(guī)定。如果把 the bird in a tree 說(shuō)成 the bird on a tree,也不會(huì)有人大叫大嚷說(shuō)你錯(cuò)了。
