在社會發(fā)展不斷趨于全球化的21世紀，各個國家、各個民族的競爭首先是人才的競爭。中國在世界上的和平崛起，首先得益于科教興國。在這一歷史背景下，首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)在本世紀初確立了國內(nèi)一流，國際知名的發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略，并開始實施人才培養(yǎng)國際化方針，并醞釀成立國際學(xué)院。

2005年為加速學(xué)校成為國內(nèi)一流、國際知名醫(yī)科大學(xué)的進程，進一步開展學(xué)校的海外教育工作，擴大海外教育規(guī)模，成立了首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)國際學(xué)院，2007年國際學(xué)院正式招生。

國際學(xué)院位于首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)西校區(qū)，學(xué)院建筑面積三萬四千平方米，可為800名海外學(xué)生提供食宿，擁有設(shè)施齊全的多媒體教室20個，包括兩個計算機室、三個臨床橋梁課實驗室和一個語言實驗室。生活配套設(shè)施有食堂、咖啡吧、食品超市、商務(wù)中心、兩個標準籃球場和學(xué)生活動室等。為來自世界各地的留學(xué)生和港澳臺學(xué)生提供良好的學(xué)習(xí)和生活條件。

首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)國際學(xué)院是首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)海外教育的主要載體，涵蓋管理、招生、教學(xué)組織、學(xué)生教育等功能，是與首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)其他各學(xué)院并行的教學(xué)單位之一，是學(xué)校各類海外教育的基地。學(xué)院開設(shè)的教育課程以英語授課的醫(yī)學(xué)專業(yè)為主，同時與國外知名大學(xué)（如澳大利亞迪肯大學(xué)、美國休斯頓醫(yī)學(xué)中心、香港中文大學(xué)等）合作舉辦各類國際教育項目，并通過校際交流引進國外優(yōu)秀教學(xué)資源，每年聘請4-5名客座教授來學(xué)院任教。在加強海外留學(xué)生教育的同時，學(xué)院還積極致力于國內(nèi)學(xué)生的國際化教育，聯(lián)合國際醫(yī)學(xué)名校為國內(nèi)學(xué)生提供海外留學(xué)進修、海外就業(yè)培訓(xùn)等系列國際教育項目?，F(xiàn)有的教育項目包括：英文授課的醫(yī)學(xué)學(xué)歷教育、國際合作項目、預(yù)科教育、學(xué)生校際交流項目、海外執(zhí)業(yè)資格認證考試培訓(xùn)、語言培訓(xùn)。

目前，首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)國際學(xué)院已成為全國重點醫(yī)學(xué)高校同類學(xué)院中教學(xué)資源豐富、教學(xué)質(zhì)量有保證、辦學(xué)規(guī)模發(fā)展較快，衷心致力于發(fā)展國際合作教育并呈現(xiàn)出良好發(fā)展勢頭的國際教育學(xué)院。

The International School of Capital Medical University was founded in 2005. The International School is located on the West Campus of Capital Medical University. The school occupies an area of 3.5 acres with a floor area of 34,000m2, sufficient to provide good living and learning environment for more than 800 overseas students. There are 20 multimedia classrooms, including 2 computer rooms, 3 bridge course laboratories and 1 language lab. Living facilities consist of a canteen, food supermarket, coffee bar, business center, two standard basketball court and student activity rooms.

The international school is the main facility of overseas student education of Capital medical university. The MBBS program, taught in English Language is recognized by the Ministry of Education China, IMED, W.H.O., the USA Medical Council, the Thai Medical Council, and several other major medical councils of the world. Our curriculum design makes full use of the advantages of Capital Medical University which has unique rich medical educational resources. Many of the professors are Chinese national leading researchers overseeing up-to-date research laboratories.

The International students come from more than 50 nationalities including Thailand, India, Australia，Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, USA, Canada and others.
