文法學(xué)院于2004年4月調(diào)整組建,主要從事人文社會科學(xué)和外語等學(xué)科專業(yè)建設(shè)、人才培養(yǎng)和科學(xué)研究。學(xué)院現(xiàn)有經(jīng)濟(jì)法學(xué)、行政管理、外國語言學(xué)及應(yīng)用語言學(xué)、英語語言文學(xué)4個學(xué)術(shù)型碩士點,有翻譯碩士(MTI)和公共管理碩士(MPA)2個專業(yè)碩士點,以及行政管理、英語、法學(xué)(涉外方向)3個本科專業(yè)。此外,還承擔(dān)全校博士、碩士研究生及本科生的英語的教學(xué)任務(wù)。

學(xué)院下設(shè)外語系、行政管理系和法學(xué)系,現(xiàn)有教職工61人,其中專任教師55人。教師中教授4人,副教授6人,講師37人,助教8人,另有兼職教授7人,副教授4人,講師3人。全院有在校生608人(其中本科生395人,研究生213人)。教師均具有研究生以上學(xué)歷,其中具有博士學(xué)位的24人,在讀博士2人。學(xué)院教學(xué)設(shè)施完備,有語音室、多媒體語音室、多媒體教學(xué)活動室、外語自主學(xué)習(xí)中心等4個語言教學(xué)實驗室和1個模擬法庭。教學(xué)設(shè)備先進(jìn)、功能齊全、教學(xué)資源充足,完全可以滿足學(xué)生培養(yǎng)需要。此外,學(xué)院還有自己的圖書資料室,有外語、社科、法律、管理各類圖書12667冊,各類期刊106種。

學(xué)院堅持育人為本、德育為先,教育教學(xué)質(zhì)量不斷提高。幾年來,不斷加強(qiáng)本科教育和人才培養(yǎng),實現(xiàn)了研究生教育和本科生教育并行發(fā)展和有效銜接,教學(xué)與科研的相互促進(jìn)和并重發(fā)展。圍繞學(xué)校目標(biāo)定位和構(gòu)建能源工業(yè)精英教育體系,學(xué)院深入開展教育思想大討論,改建教學(xué)方法,融入先進(jìn)教育理念,為學(xué)生成長成才營造了和諧互動、個性發(fā)展的人文環(huán)境,保證了人才培養(yǎng)質(zhì)量的不斷提升。

學(xué)院注重多層面育人,在教學(xué)之余十分注重學(xué)生的思想品德、身體素質(zhì)、文娛生活、體育健康等方面的培養(yǎng)。院團(tuán)委定期在學(xué)院乃至全校范圍內(nèi)開展各種各樣的文娛活動,活躍了校園的文化氛圍,提升了學(xué)生的藝術(shù)修養(yǎng),豐富大學(xué)生的課余生活,強(qiáng)化了團(tuán)隊精神,增強(qiáng)了綜合素質(zhì),為培養(yǎng)德智體美全面發(fā)展的社會主義合格建設(shè)者和可靠接班人提供了有力保障。
School of Law and Humanities was founded in April 2004, mainly undertaking discipline construction, professional training and scientific research in the field of humanities social sciences and foreign languages. Currently, it has four academic master programs, respectively in Economic Law, Administration, English Language and Literature, Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, two professional master programs, Master in Translation and Interpreting (MTI) and Master in Public Administration (MPA), and three bachelor programs in English, Administration and Foreign Law. The School is also responsible for teaching English for all the non-English majors including doctoral students, graduates and undergraduates.

There are three departments under the School, namely, Department of Foreign Languages, Department of Administration and Department of Law. Among the total 61 staff, 55 are full-time teachers, including 4 professors, 6 associate professors, 37 lecturers and 8 teaching assistants. We also employ 14 part-time teachers, including 7 professors, 4 associate professors and 3 lecturers. There are 608 students in total, including 395 undergraduates and 213 graduates. All of the teachers have master’s degrees or above; 24 of them have doctoral degrees and 2 are PhD candidates. The School is well equipped with teaching facilities, such as moot court, language lab, multimedia language lab, multimedia classroom and self-learning foreign language center. Its advanced teaching equipment, multiple functions and adequate teaching resources can fully satisfy students’ cultivation demands. Additionally, our school library boasts 106 sorts of periodicals and 12,667 books concerning foreign languages, social sciences, management and law.

Adhering to the student-oriented principle with moral education as the priority, the School has continually improved its teaching quality. Over the years, it has never ceased to strengthen its undergraduate education and talent training, realizing not only parallel development and effective connection between graduate and undergraduate programs, but also the mutual promotion and equal development between teaching and researches. Centering on the university’s running target and orientation, especially the construction of elite education system for energy industry, we have organized deep discussion on educational thought, improved the teaching methods and brought in advanced educational concepts, which has not only created a cultural atmosphere of harmonious interaction and individual development for the student’s growth and success, but also guaranteed the constant enhancement of talent training quality.

With focus on both classroom teaching and students’ multi-facet cultivation, the School attaches much importance to the students’ ideology and morality, physical quality and fitness, cultural recreation, etc. The School League Committee regularly offers students all sorts of recreational activities either at school or even at university level to enhance the cultural atmosphere and students’ artistic cultivation, enrich their extracurricular lives, strengthen their team spirit and comprehensive quality, providing powerful guarantee for training the qualified builders and reliable successors of socialism with an all-round development in morality, intelligence and physique.
